Kibabii University is fully prepared to host this year’s National Kenya Music Festival starting from 1st August, with organizers expressing confidence in the institution’s readiness to deliver a successful event.

Speaking on behalf of the institution, Nelson Sifuna, Head of Directorate of Coordination and Co-Curricular Activities at Kibabii University, confirmed that all preparations have been finalized to accommodate thousands of participants from across the country.

The Chairman of the Kenya Music Festival, Prof. Engala, together with regional directors and government officials, recently inspected the venue and commended the university for its high level of preparedness. This follows the successful hosting of the national drama festivals earlier, which were widely praised for excellent organization.

The event is expected to attract over 240,000 students, a turnout that organizers say will significantly boost economic activities around the university. Hotel owners, transport operators, and small-scale business owners are expected to benefit from the increased number of visitors.

Security has also been assured, with relevant agencies confirming that measures are in place to guarantee the safety of all participants and guests throughout the festival period.

Winners from the national competition will proceed to represent Kenya in Uganda at the East African regional cultural events, showcasing talent at an international level.

Stakeholders remain optimistic that the festival will promote cultural development while also boosting education and economic growth in the region.
