The African Talent University Set To Revolutionize Education In Kenya -Prof Oborah

The African Talent University (TATU) is designed to produce not just graduates who describe problems but individuals who solve them.
During a press conference in Kisumu on Thursday, Prof. Humphrey Oborah, Founder and Sponsor of the University affirmed that by the government granting it a letter of interim authority is not the end of a journey. It is the beginning of an education revolution.
He stated that the day marks a historic milestone—not just for The African Talent University, but for the future of education in Africa.
“After a 20-year journey of vision, persistence, and advocacy, the Government of Kenya has granted The African Talent University an Interim Charter, through the Letter of Interim Authority (LIA),” he said.
He noted that the recognition affirms a bold new model of higher education—one that places talent, not just grades, at the center of learning, innovation, and human development.
“For two decades, we have championed a simple but transformative idea:
that millions of young Africans possess extraordinary abilities that conventional systems do not recognize,” Oborah said.

The Interim Charter is therefore not just an institutional approval—it is validation of a new direction in education.
When the Cabinet Secretary for Education issued the LIA, he expressed confidence that TATU would help address the gaps within the CBC/CBE system.
We take that responsibility seriously as the origins and pioneers of the CBC concepts.
A 20-Year Vision Comes Alive
For two decades, Prof. Oborah carried a bold and often misunderstood idea:
That Africa’s greatest resource is not minerals, not land—but talent.
Not just academic brilliance, but:
hidden abilities, creative minds, practical skills
lived experiences and yet, millions of young Africans have been locked out of opportunity simply because they did not fit into traditional academic systems. That changes now.
The African Talent University (TATU) is not built on grades alone—it is built on human potential.
“We are opening our doors to every young person who knows they have something special—whether recognized by exams or not.”
For the May 2026 intake, students can now join through:
Talent, Life and work experience, Traditional academic qualifications
This is education reimagined.
A Continental Mission, TATU is not just for Kenya. It is a model for Africa.
With conviction and clarity, Prof. Oborah emphasized:
“The African Talent University is not just an institution—it is a solution. A solution to an education system that has trained people to describe problems, but not solve them.”
The mission is simple yet transformative:
Turn talent into innovation
Turn skills into enterprise
Turn potential into productivity
 Accessible, Inclusive, and Empowering
In a major boost for accessibility, the university confirmed the possibility of funding through Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)—opening doors for thousands of deserving students.

TATU’s fees are significantly lower than most private universities in Kenya
This is not just about education.
It’s about opportunity for all.
