A renowned journalist has started his own online Radio Station which specializes in Rhumba Music.
Broadcasting from Nairobi -Kenya, the Congo Sounds Radio which was launched on 1st June 2026 is hitting the online airwaves by specializing in playing Rhumba music.
Rhumba is the cool music which has attracted thousands of online viewers and especially people above 40 years.
The Proprietor Antony Nyongesa alias Papa Tony Mutu Importante who is also the sole broadcaster at the online Radio station says he fell in love with Rumba while in his third year at Chuka University, and dedicated himself to intensive research about the music and Lingala Language.
“Rhumba is the best genre of music, it soothes the heart and cools the adrenaline as one shakes his head to the cool music played in my station,” said Nyongesa.
Born and bred in Kamusinde, Kimilili- Bungoma County, the trained journalist who has worked with several media stations including Khendo FM in Bungoma Town and Aviation FM in Nairobi discloses that he had wished to own his on Radio station which is now a reality.
Congo Sounds Radio broadcasts on TikTok, Facebook and also on MyTuner.
The launch was graced by PDG Docteur Nico from house of Rumba.
“Ours is to keep Rumba alive and bring the Rumba family together” said Nyongesa.
