A Bungoma businessman who is also a Webuye West Parliamentary aspirant Joseph Lendrix Waswa has rewarded AFC Leopards players with KSh 3,000 to each as a token of appreciation for a well deserved game.
Despite AFC Leopards team also known as Ingwe losing 1-0 to their bitter rivals in the 99th Mashemeji derby, Lendrix saw it good to support players from the team he has been supporting since his childhood.
AFC Leopards were beaten 1-0 by the Green Army inna tantalizing and a high voltage match played at Nyayo National Stadium.
As staunch Ingwe supporter and sponsor, Lendrix praised the team for their grit and determination, urging them to stay focused and bounce back stronger in the next matches.
Despite the narrow 1-0 defeat, Lendrix noted that the performance showed clear promise, insisting that the squad should remain firmly in the title race this season.
In the current FKF Premier League standings, AFC Leopards sit second with 55 points, closely trailing leaders Gor Mahia, who top the table with 61 points setting the stage for a thrilling run-in for the tittle race.
