Youth Urged To Shun Alcohol And Substance Abuse

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called on youths to shun engaging in drug and substance abuse in a bid to safe guard their future.

Speaking at Kabula Pastoral Centre in Bumula where he played host to the Spouse of the Deputy President Dr. Dorcas Gachagua, Lusaka pleaded with the youths to shun the vice disclosing the country was losing many youths to drugs.

“I call upon our youths to engage in constructive and meaningful activities and shun alcohol and substance abuse,” said Lusaka.

The county boss lauded the second lady for her relentless efforts in fighting for the space and rights of the boy child in the community pledging his full support towards the course.

“We laud Dr. Dorcas Gachagua for her efforts in fighting for the rights of the boy child. She has our full support,” pledged Lusaka.

The second lady on her part assured of her commitment to secure youths from the bondage of alcohol and substance abuse.

“I am a mother to sons, I will fight for the rights of our sons and that doesn’t mean I am excluding the girl child. I am committed to ensuring our youths are free from the bondage of alcohol and substance abuse,” said Dr. Gachagua.

Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany, CECMs, Chief Officers, County Chaplain Mcas and host of National and County officials were present.
