Kabkara FC will embark on the recruitment of new players from today ahead of the Football Kenya Federation Western Region Division II Zone League 2024/2025 League.
Club official Isaac Iutai said they need to bolster the team ahead of the new season, urging whoever is willing to play for the club to turn up in large numbers during the recruitment exercise.
” We need quality players to boost our squad. Participating in Division II is not a walk in the park. We need good quality players to beef up the team,” Iutai said.
FKF Teso North Sub Branch chairman Victor Ochakala said football has no boundaries like the Independent and Electoral Boundary Commission (IEBC) vowing to continue his resolve to promote football in Teso region.
The sub branch chairman congratulated Busia U-23 boys soccer team for winning the event in Malindi last month, noting that it has demonstrated that the county has talents, adding that the top scorer in the tournament also came from Teso North Sub County.
He also thanked Kabkara FC striker Kibet for emerging the top scorer in the regional league to confirm that the region has what it takes to produce local and international stars.
Ochakala said 20 players will be recruitment for Team Teso North Sub County, noting that discipline will be key in the selection criteria, adding that lazy players will be sent packing.
Team patron James Eumonit urged players and officials to sing one language, noting that 12 of his officials have no jobs to sustain them to confirm the magnitude of the matter.
” God is great. My desire is to nurture players’ talents and to ensure they make tremendous progress in their professional career, adding that training will be of essence,” he said.
FKF Busia Branch Secretary General Reuben Olita, who represented branch chairman Hillary Musundi, thanked Kabkara patron James Eumonit for his unwavering support for Kabkara FC and his efforts in nurturing talents that abounds in the area.
” Your support for Kabkara FC and nurturing of players’ talents is much appreciated, assuring him of maximum support to have the team qualify for Division I league in the 2025/2025/2026 season,” he said.
Mr Iutai said he was the brain behind the formation and coaching of the club, lauding the patron Mr Eumonit, whom he described as his role model.
” Let God bless you on what you are doing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sub branch chairman Mr Ochakala and branch Secretary General for visiting us,” Iutai said.
The club’s assistant team manager, Hassan Gatimwa, said that since the formation of Kabkara FC, cases of thuggery in the area has tremendously decreased as players spend most of their time to engage in football at the expense of other activities.
Kabkara chairman Damascas Okanya said they started lowly in the regional league before picking up praying that they would reach far in their pursuit for excellence.
Bishop John Ndiema of the Redeemed Gospel Church offered special prayers to the club officials and players to achieve their cherished dreams, telling players to aim higher and learn to say thank you.
