Masinde Nguti an American based businessman is touted as the best politician in Kimilili constituency to take over from the current Mp Hon.Didmus Barasa who has announced his bid to go for Bungoma County governorship in 2027.
Nguti has shown his interest among a dozen other politicians who are fighting to inherit the seat which will be left vacant by Barasa after serving his two terms.
His entry into Kimilili politics as complicated matters for other politicians who fear that he is one of the strong candidates to succeed the current legislator.
His announcement to lead Kimilili into development achievement has received widespread excitement.
“I am eyeing for this sit to liberate my people from the yoke of bondage and underdevelopment, having stayed in the US am able to transform Kimilili constituency into a development hub, that’s my agenda,” he said.
Opinion leaders in the constituency opine that Nguti from Kibingei ward has the capacity and ability to lead the once malnourished region in terms of development.
“As you can see, the current and previous leaders have been a let down to voters, once they are elevated into those positions they start amassing wealth and forgetting those who elected them, I promise that if given a chance I will lead you through initiation of great projects,” he said.
Poo political pundits state that, Kimilili needs a development oriented leader who has Wananchi’s interests at heart.
Nguti is the son of the former Chesamisi High and Friends School Kamusinga Principal Dr. David Nguti, who rose through the ranks to be become a long-serving Rift Valley and Nyanza Provincial Director of Education.
Nguti has in the past funded youth programs like football tournaments which attracted scores of youths.
He has also championed and supported education programs targeting bright but needy students.
He said that he is planning to launch the ‘Maliza Sisilima Project’ which will entail distribution of solar-powered lighting gadgets to light up rural communities in Kimilili constituency.
As the 2027 parliamentary race nears, Nguti’s political star is growing in bounds promising a transformative electoral contest, he is an influential figure with substantial voter support base and if given a chance he is likely to emerge the best leader.
His financial capability to lead a robust campaign, combined with his humanitarian efforts, has unsettled his opponents, highlighting that the upcoming election will focus on solid agendas and a proven track record.
Nguti a known author of “Luhya Unity-Leadership will come from the lake, truth behind the myth,” has made his through penning other stories.
His humor and reserved energies, along with the strategic mantra ‘Sisiafusie’ (loosely translating to “it’s different now”), have created a significant impact in the opponent camps
