Amani National Congress (ANC) youth leaders from Kakamega County have condemned nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi of being used by external forces to scuttle presidential ambitions of the party boss, Musalia Mudavadi.

The youths led by Kakamega County ANC Chairman Emmanuel Buchichi said Mr. Osotsi is not an official of the Mudavadi-led party and therefore he has no mandate of calling for grassroots elections.

Buchichi said Osotsi was removed from the party by Anne Ndiritu, the Registrar of Political Parties on May 13, last year and that calling for grassroots elections was an illegality punishable by law.

“Osotsi is walking with court orders in his pockets, the reason he is still an MP. His position was voided last year and we are just waiting for the conclusion of the matter before we can nominate another person to replace him,” said Buchichi.

The youths were reacting to Osotsi’s announcement that Mudavadi has until June 15, this year to relinquish the position ANC party leader to pave way for election of new party officials.

According to Buchichi, Osotsi was being used by ODM leader Raila Odinga and Cotu boss Francis Atwoli to oust Mudavadi the same way they used Ford Kenya Secretary General Dr. Eseli Simiyu and Kanduyi MP to oust Wetang’ula as party leader.

“It’s only Barack Muluka who can call for grassroots elections and not an outsider in the name of Godfrey Osotsi. We know ODM is using him to destroy ANC for the benefit of Raila who doesn’t have the interests of the Mulembe nation at heart,” said Lynda Aseyo, nominated MCA.

“Khamala got 26,000 votes, Savula (48,000 votes) and Tindi Mwale (18,500 votes) among others. How many votes did you get to insult them? You (Osotsi) should be the last person to insult duly elected leaders and we want to remind you your days in politics are numbered,” said Mr. Okwako.

Joel Okwako, the Personal Assistant to Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala told off Osotsi over his assertions that the party belongs to him, saying he is lucky he is an MP courtesy of Butere MP Tindi Mwale, Khamala and  Ayub Savula (Lugari).

Okwako dared Osotsi to come to Kakamega to conduct the grassroots elections if he is a man enough, saying they will not entertain his political gimmicks. “We know money has exchanged hands to cause havoc in our party but we are strong and unmoved,”

Kakamega County ANC CEO Isaac Otiende told Osotsi to respect Mudavadi since he is the one who made ushered him to politics.

“When you were secretary general, you nominated your mother in law and sidechics to the County Assembly of Kakamega, Vihiga and Nandi. You can’t tell us anything. You ruined our party when you were the SG and we will not entertain you crap anymore,” said Otiende.

Musalia Mudavadi

The move comes just a day after Khamala, Murunga and Mwale alleged that one of the ANC MPs had been paid to dethrone Mudavadi as party leader.

Lugari MP Ayub Savula came out and confessed that he had been approached by Raila’s pointment to betray Mudavadi but he refused.
