Anglican Church of Kenya St. Thomas Amagoro Vicar-General Rev Isabella Inyele has likened those who carried our the
macabre killing of Kasipul MP Charles Were to biblical Judas.
Addressing mourners during the burial service of a prominent Amagoro businessman,
David Omonya, at Kimasat village in Amagoro Sub Location, Teso North Sub county on Friday, May 2, the prelate prevailed upon God to intervene and save Kenya from “political assassinations.”
” Those who ended the life of the two-time MP Were had the heart of Judas who betrayed Jesus with 30 pieces of silver, and that spirit has followed them,” Isabella said.
Rev Isabella blamed the death of the MP to politics and leadership and asked: ” How much much were those who executed the bizarre killing by their master(s)? Even if it was “Ksh100m,” it’s satanic heart, which will haunt them in eternity.
The priest added: ” Athlough the killing of the MP was executed in Nairobi, this scenario is experienced in other parts of the country with some culprits dumped in trenches to disguise their deaths.”
Busia County Assembly Deputy Speaker Ronald Ochalu said the killing of the Kasipul MP was orchestrated by people who have selfish hearts and gunning for power.
The Deputy Speaker added that an MCA from Bumala in Busia county has been in hiding with imminent death threats, which he didn’t expound on.

David lived a healthy life until February 1, 2025, when he started experiencing swollen legs. He was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital, where he was diagnosed with liver and spleen enlargement.
He was put on treatment but without change. Citing no improvement, he was taken to Kocholia Sub County Hospital, where he was treated and discharged .
The situation kept on worsening, and he was taken back to Bungoma Referral Hospital, where he was referred to Bungoma LifeCare for MRI scan.
The results revealed continuous enlargement of the livera and spleen, which resulted in the swelling of the stomach. There was also a massive ascites.
David was treated but no change where was taken to Kumi Ong’ino hospital in Uganda. He was diagnosed, and the spleen and his liver were found enlarged. He was admitted for one week while undergoing treatment. The state improved, and he was discharged.
The situation changed again, and he was taken to Busia County Referral Hospital, where he was again admitted for one week while undergoing treatment.
The situation kept on worsening, which led doctors to refer him to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for further management.
Unfortunately, as plans to take him to Eldoret were underway, the situation worsened and he was rushed to Kocholia Sub County Hospital where he was prompted to glory while undergoing treatment on 22st April, 2025 at 12 noon.
David joined International Generation College in Nairobi from 2016-2018 to pursue a business m4anagement Course.He ventured into business from 2018 up to his demise. He operated West End Shop in Amagoro.
