I’m Not Polygamous, Busia Deputy Speaker Claims As He Parades His Wife

By Reuben Olita

Busia Deputy Speaker Hon Ronald Ochalu has denied claims of being polygamous by parading his wife before mourners to justify his assertion.

Speaking during the burial of Amagoro businessman David Omonya, 33, at Aleles in Amagoro at the weekend, Ochalu said Violet Ibura was his only wife

” This is the love of my heart. Whether left, right, or centre, Violet will remain my only wife,” Hon Ochalu told mourners amid hallulations,” he said.

” It’ true that most politicians marry many

women after ascending to power. Satan should be condemned in the strongest terms possible,” Ochalu, who is also the Malaba Central Ward Member of the County Assembly said.

While delivering her sermon, the Vicar-General in charge of St Thomas Amagoro ACK Church Rev Isabella Inyele Imo blamed politicians, especially MCAs, MPS and Senators for becoming polygamous after cheating their way into leadership position which end up into many squabbles, some fatal.

Speaking while delivering her sermon, Rev Isabella chided men for campaigning for top positions, including MCA, MP, and Senator, among others to give them a platform into joining a polygamous world.

Based on Ezekiel 18:1-13, Isabella told men not to indulge in sexual exapedes outside their matrimonial marriages, which she said was an abomination.

Residents who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed Rev Isabella’s claims, saying some of the MCAs have homes in Kenya and Uganda, adding that most of them have invested in many counties including Bungoma, Kakamega, Siaya and Kisumu where they reportedly have concubines.

The late former President Mwai Emilio Kibaki also once conered between the media and his wife with claims that an MP, then Ms Wamboi, was having illicit affairs with him.

President Kibaki went ahead to refute the claims by parading his wife, the late Lucy Kibaki , who by then was losing favour with the public after slapping a journalist for allegedly slandering her.
