Governor Kenneth Lusaka has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government of Finland that will see Bungoma receive KSh.700 Million towards prevention of Gender Based violence.

The three year grant under Kenya-Finland Bilateral programme on Gender Based violence in Kenya aims at strengthening prevention and response to violences related to gender in Bungoma.

Bungoma becomes the first county to benefit from the program designed to address and fight GBV in three counties among them Kilifi and Samburu.

The signing was witnessed by Cabinet Secretary for Public service, affirmative action and Gender, Aisha Jumwa, Bungoma County MP Catherine Wambilianga, a delegation from Finland and other Dignitaries.
