Joy As Mwasame Gifts Bulondo Family A Brand New House

It was like Manna from heaven for a family that lacked a decent house for shelter.
The family of Mzee Mzee Protus Wabwile Wakhanu and Mama Jamilah Wakhanu in Bulondo Village, Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County can now dwell in a decent house after years of staying in an old grass thatched house that was in a verge of collapsing.
The effort of a journalist cum politician Zaccheaus Mwasame who has announced his bid to vie for a parliamentary seat in Kanduyi has seen the family smile as he built a new semi permanent house for the poverty stricken family.
The plight of the beneficiaries were highlighted by his close confidants and as a way of giving back to the society, he has managed to construct and hand over the over the house through his initiative dubbed, ‘Jenga Nyumba’ in which he intends to do away with grass thatched houses in the region.
It was a moment filled with tears of joy as the family of eight received a life-changing blessing.
For years, they had been living in a small grass-thatched house, struggling to make ends meet. Mzee Protus, who works as a sugarcane cutter for a local sugar company, earns only $1 per day while supporting his family.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Mzee Protus expressed deep gratitude, saying the new house had given his family a fresh start and renewed hope for the future.
This marks the 43rd house built and gifted to vulnerable families in Kanduyi under Hon. Mwasame’s Jenga Nyumba Initiative, aimed at ensuring families live in safe and decent homes.
Mwasame continues to demonstrate his commitment to improving the lives of the people of Kanduyi, driven by a greater vision of dignity, opportunity, and transformation for the community.
He intends to unseat Kanduyi Mp John Makali while contesting for the seat in 2027 with other aspirants such as Wafula Wamunyinyi, Wepukhulu, Collins Mukhongo and Noel Makeni among others.
