Collins Masika Masinde, Youth Advocate and Director of Youth for Sustainable Development Bungoma Chapter CBO, strongly condemns the recent attacks on citizens in Sirisia Sub-County by hired goons allegedly acting on behalf of politicians.
These acts of violence are unacceptable and represent a grave threat to the peace and security of our community.

“The use of violence and intimidation to silence dissenting voices is a blatant attack on our democratic principles,” stated Collins Masika Masinde.
“We cannot allow politicians to exploit vulnerable individuals, particularly our youth, to perpetuate their own agendas at the expense of public safety.”
Masinde expressed deep concern over the manipulation of young people by politicians who offer short-term gains in exchange for participation in violent activities.
He emphasized the long-term consequences of such actions, which often leave young people trapped in a cycle of poverty and joblessness.
Youths involved in violent activities
“Politicians who resort to hiring goons do not have sustainable agendas for our youth,” Masinde asserted.
“They offer temporary solutions and empty promises, while our young people continue to struggle with unemployment and economic hardship. We urge our youth to reject these ill-advised actions and instead channel their energy into constructive ventures that contribute to the development of our community.”
The Youth for Sustainable Development Bungoma Chapter CBO calls on all young people in Sirisia Sub-County and Bungoma County to:
Refuse to be used as tools of violence by politicians.
Focus on education, skill development, and entrepreneurship.
Engage in peaceful and constructive activities that promote community development.
Demand accountability from political leaders and hold them responsible for their actions.
Join and participate in community based organizations which are keen to develop the youth.
“Our youth are the future of our nation,” Masinde concluded. “We must empower them to become agents of positive change, rather than victims of political manipulation.
We call upon law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate these attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice. We also encourage the youths to report any person who is trying to recruit them into such ill actions.”
