Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who doubles as President William Rutoโs re-election coordinator for the Western region, has called on the Head of Stateโs supporters to anchor his re-election bid on tangible development achievements rather than political rhetoric.
Speaking during a meeting with UDA grassroots leaders drawn from across Bungoma County, Lusaka said the coalition had made a deliberate decision to run an issue-based campaign, distancing itself from what he termed as insults and empty rhetoric being peddled by the opposition.
โOur campaign should be issue-based. We are going to the grassroots to outline to our people the tremendous work our President has done, especially in this region of Mulembe,โ Lusaka told the gathering.

The Governor noted that despite serving a relatively short period in office, President Ruto had already spearheaded major infrastructure and development projects across the Western region.
Among the key projects he cited were the ongoing Mau SummitโRironi road, the revival of ailing sugar industries, the construction of several modern markets, and the establishment of a smart city in Bungoma town, among other flagship initiatives.

Lusaka further predicted that the opposition would struggle to rally behind a single presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 polls, noting that cracks within their ranks were already beginning to show.
โLet them bring their choice, then we will show them real politics,โ he said.

The Western region coordinator maintained that the region had every reason to back President Rutoโs re-election bid, citing the development strides made under his administration.
