Chesamisi Volleyball Team Lands National Slot Following The Verification Process Of Malava Boys Players

By Freelance Writer
OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION
We have noted reports circulating on social media stating that “Chesamisi Boys High School secured qualification to the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Ball Games after their appeal was upheld.” This is not an accurate account of what transpired.
Chesamisi Boys High School lodged an appeal regarding the eligibility of players fielded by Malava Boys High School during the 2026 Western Region Secondary Schools Volleyball Championships.
The Appeals Committee dismissed our appeal. We subsequently filed a re-appeal before the Supreme Jury, but that too was dismissed.

Following the conclusion of the appeals process, the National KSSSA player eligibility verification exercise was conducted.
During this verification, it was established that only four (4) of the fourteen (14) players presented by Malava Boys High School met the eligibility requirements under the KSSSA registration system.
Consequently, Malava Boys High School was disqualified, and Chesamisi Boys High School was confirmed as the official Western Region representative to the 2026 KSSSA National Ball Games in Thika.
Our qualification was therefore not the result of an appeal being upheld. It arose from the National KSSSA eligibility verification process, which independently established that the team fielded by Malava Boys High School did not comply with the applicable eligibility requirements.
In view of this outcome, we respectfully call upon the Western Region KSSSA leadership to formally award the Western Region Volleyball Championship title and trophy to Chesamisi Boys High School, which is now the officially recognised representative of the region.
We also respectfully urge the Western Region KSSSA Appeals Committee and all officials entrusted with administering school sports to ensure that future appeals are handled with fairness, impartiality, and strict adherence to the KSSSA Constitution and Regulations.
Decisions should always be guided by evidence and the rules governing the competition, as this strengthens public confidence and preserves the integrity of school sports.
Finally, we thank our Principal, coaches, players, parents, alumni, fans, and all well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout this journey. Your faith in justice, fairness, and integrity has kept us going.
Congratulations to the Buffaloes! We are proud to represent the Western Region at the 2026 KSSSA National Ball Games in Thika. 🏐💙
