Residents of Angurai East Ward, led by aspirant Hon. Cleophas Okisai, have formally presented five key development priorities to His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto for urgent consideration:
1. Land Services Reform
Transfer land records from the Bungoma Lands Office to the Busia Lands Office to improve accessibility, efficiency, and service delivery for residents.
2. Resolution of Historical Land Issues
Fully operationalize the Mwongovia Report to conclusively address long-standing land disputes affecting the Teso community.
3. Infrastructure Development
Tarmac the Kimaet–Lwakhakha Road to unlock Teso North’s economic potential and enhance cross-border trade and mobility.
4. Expansion of Higher Education
Upgrade Kolanya Boys High School into a fully-fledged university to expand access to higher education for Teso youth.
5. Administrative Upgrade
Elevate Changara Division to sub-county status to bring essential government services closer to the people and improve local administration.
APPRECIATION FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
As voters of Angurai East Ward, we express our sincere gratitude to H.E. President William Samoei Ruto for the tangible progress witnessed across the country, including within the Teso region. Based on these achievements, we reaffirm our commitment to support the UDA agenda in the 2027 General Election.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS IMPACTING THE TESO COMMUNITY
1. Agricultural Transformation
The reduction of subsidized fertilizer prices from Ksh 6,500 to Ksh 2,500 has empowered farmers in Amagoro, Chakol, and Angurai to increase acreage and improve household incomes.
2. Education Sector Growth
Over 100,000 teachers have been recruited, with an additional 40,000 in the pipeline, strengthening staffing levels and enhancing the implementation of CBC in Teso schools.
3. Financial Inclusion
The Hustler Fund has disbursed over Ksh 82 billion to millions of Kenyans, benefiting boda boda riders in Malaba and small-scale traders in Amukura through accessible and affordable credit.

4. Universal Health Coverage
With over 28 million Kenyans registered under SHA, facilities such as Alupe and Kocholia hospitals are now providing more accessible and affordable healthcare, reducing the financial burden on families.
5. Social Protection
Through the Inua Jamii programme, over 1.2 million vulnerable Kenyans—including widows, the elderly, and persons with disabilities—receive direct monthly financial support.
6. Career Growth & Representation
The current administration has expanded opportunities for Iteso professionals, supporting career advancement and greater inclusion in national development.
CONCLUSION
The record speaks for itself. Within three years, measurable progress has been realized—affordable farm inputs, expanded education opportunities, direct financial support, and improved access to healthcare.
Teso is informed. Teso is resolute.
