Woman Births Twins Interrupting A Political Rally in Kabuchai, Leaders Moved by Mother’s Courage

By Duncan Waswa – 14 July 2025

What began as a routine political rally in Kabuchai turned into an emotional and unforgettable moment when a pregnant woman attending the event gave birth to twin babies in the middle of the gathering.

The woman, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, had joined dozens of other mothers at the opposition-led event when she went into labor unexpectedly. Her cries for help brought the political speeches to a dramatic halt, with leaders and attendees rushing to assist.

The incident drew strong reactions from leaders present, who described the birth as a powerful sign of hope and blessing.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, visibly moved by the moment, contributed generously to support the mother and called on others to do the same. In a symbolic gesture, he requested that one of the newborns be named after him.

“This is not just an ordinary birth—it is a reminder that life continues even in the most unexpected places. I feel deeply honored to be part of this moment,” said Sifuna.

The leaders collectively raised over Ksh 50,000 to support the mother and her twins. The crowd, many of whom were women and youth, burst into cheers and ululations as the contributions poured in, praising the leaders for their compassion and the mother for her bravery.

Kabuchai Member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga described the moment as a new dawn for the community.

“This mother is a symbol of courage and resilience. Giving birth in the middle of a rally is no small feat. It shows the strength of our women and the spirit of our people,” said Kalasinga.

He further pledged continued support for the family, promising to follow up with medical and economic assistance.

Social media quickly picked up on the story, with photos and short video clips from the rally circulating widely, drawing praise from Kenyans touched by the unexpected turn of events.

Many lauded the leaders for pausing politics to prioritize humanity—a rare gesture in Kenya’s often divisive political landscape.

As the twin boys begin life with such a unique story, their birth now stands as a reminder of unity, compassion, and the power of community—even in the middle of political discourse.
