Busia Woman Representative has thanked President Dr. William Ruto for appointing Dr Bonface Makokha as the Principal Secretary for Economic Planning and Treasury.

” His expertise brings hope for strengthened economic strategies for our country,” Omanyo said in a statement.
Dr. Makokha becomes the second PS to join Ruto’s government from Busia County. The other is Susan Mangeni, the PS for MSME.
The other high-profile government officer is Mr Arthur Amug Osiya, the Principal Administrative Secretary in the Executive Office of the President.
Dr. Bonface Makokha was born and raised in Siera village, which is in Lupida Sub-location, Bukhayo North/ Walatsi Ward, Nambale Sub County, Busia County.
He grew up there and studied at Lupida Primary School, where Hon Okiya Omtatah, the Senator from Busia County, was the headteacher during his time. Area MCA Gardy Jakaa was his childhood classmate.
Dr. Makokha holds a Bachelor’s degree in education (science) and a Master’s degree in physics, among other qualifications.
He taught physics and chemistry at Kolanya Girls National School, lectured at Daystar University, and served in senior roles in both regional and international organisations.
