Embrace Politics Of Touching People’s Lives -PAS Arthur Osiya

By Reuben Olita

Principal Administrative Secretary in the Executive Office of the President, Arthur Amugu Osiya, has urged politicians to embrace the politics of touching peoples’ lives.

Addressing mourners during the burial service of Amagoro Chief Daniel Otebang’or Otwani at Amagoro Primary School grounds, Mr. Osia said leaders should up their game in service delivery instead of engaging in empty rhetoric.

” As I look forward to venturing into politics in 2027, I am challenging leaders to be focused and strive to help their communities in realizing their socio-economic development agenda,” Osiya said.

He urged leaders to unite and forge the community’s destiny, noting that parties’ politics would derail their agenda of reaping big from the national cake if they don’t take bold stand of joining the government side.

Osiya went on: ” I will teach the Deputy Speaker Hon Ochalu where to go. I have a chequered career in the civil service rising to the ranks of District Officer, DC, RC, PAS. I sit with the head of public service to confirm my unwavering contribution to the government.

The PAS told skeptics not to follow people blindly but to look for them for advice as he wished the county government well. He regretted that the economy of the Teso region has dropped, urging the community to get its identity back and Tesos in the diaspora should master their language.

Former Malaba Central Ward Member of the County Assembly and Malaba Municipality Board Member Ishmael Orodi said the Teso community should think twice about supporting ODM if there is nothing on the table.

Orodi told the Deputy Speaker and Malaba Central MCA to embrace service delivery, noting that he may opt to challenge him for the seat come 2027.

CECM for ICT and Strategic Partnership Douglas Okiring said Amagoro has started new phase of development in the county, initiating development at the grass-roots level, telling the electorate to question their MCAs if no such developments are forthcoming.

“Instead of improving on service delivery, some leaders engage on witch-hunt, character assassination, insults, instead of strategizing as a leader and planning as a leader,” he noted.

PAS Arhur Osiya, DCC Solomon Karai, and OCPD Joseph Matiku.

Area MCA Ronald Ochalu admitted that the County Government of Busia has allocated them money in ward based projects, noting that he has allocated part of the funds in sponsoring 452 students to undergo training in various courses at Amagoro Polytechnic.

” I have also set aside funds to train 15 students at the KMTC Teso Campus to undertake various courses including nursing, adding that funds have been allocated to complete Aleles Dispensary,” he said.

Ochalu added: ” Amoni Dispensary is on the lintal stage while Malaba Dispensary is being fenced off. The Ksh50million 200 units Amagoro market is under construction with 55 households in the Kidek area set to benefit from last mile connectivity.
