The family of Mr. Fred Kubumba from Muyayi dam, West Nalondo ward is very grateful after the ward leader came to his rescue.

“I came to their rescue and ensured their dream of sleeping under an iron sheet roofed house came to reality,” stated the ward leader.

Mzee Kubumba who hails from Muyai Dam near Kabuchai market has been staying in almost falling grass thatched house and which was putting him and his family in great danger.

The plight of Kubumba was brought to light by the administrator of Kabuchai online who consistently highlighted the matter which caught the eyes of area leaders.

“Kubumba is appealing for help from well wishers to help him put up a new shelter, he is sickly and weak with nobody to take care of him. His son is a casual labourer at the neighbour’s farms,” read the post.

Kubumba has children but has no wife at the moment making his life even more complicated and miserable.

Hon.Wandabusi who visited him on Monday carried alongside him iron sheets and has promised to put up a shelter for the old man according to his campaign pledges.

“This old man has really suffered, I have to ensure the house is up and in use within a week or two, this is the only way of fighting poverty within the community and the ward at large,” he said.

Wandabusi affirmed his commitment in wiping out all grass thatched houses within West Nalondo ward before his five year term ends.

“Life is valuable and as such, I must make sure my voters are comfortable, that’s why I was elected based on their trust on my leadership skills,” he confirmed.
