Isukha South MCA Farouk Machanje is walking between a hard place and a rock.
Machanje who was elected on Amani National Congress (ANC) seems like his goose has already been cooked going by the unfavorable conducive environment in his backyard. He defected to UDA.
“We will not be addressed by you mheshimiwa. You are a disgrace to t us (voters) who helped go to the county assembly and instead of representing us, you started looking down upon us,” the locals shouted.
Irate residents heckled Machanje who has since decamped to Deputy President William Ruto’s party at Khayega market when he was welcomed to the podium by Ruto to address them.
“We will not be addressed by you mheshimiwa. You are a disgrace to t us (voters) who helped go to the county assembly and instead of representing us, you started looking down upon us,” the locals shouted.
Efforts by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale to appeal to the locals to allow the ward rep to address the congregation were ignored.
Khalwale retreated, took the microphone from Machanje and asked him climb down from the podium.
Word has it that after sensing defeat in the next polls, he has decided he will not defend the seat.
