Kakamega County on Thursday received Medical Equipments from MozzartBet worth Sh3million.
The medical equipments were donated to Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital and received by Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
“MozzartBet gave Sh20million sponsorship to Kakamega Homeboyz, sunk a borehole for the Lurambi residents and today they have given us medical equipments worth Sh3million. This is good work and we encourage other corporate entities to follow suit,” said Oparanya.
The equipments that were donated by the betting firm are patient monitors, incubators, Crank beds, Delivery beds, oxygen concentrators, maternity MVA kits, bedside lockers, nebulizers and blood pressure monitors.
Governor Oparanya said that this is not the first time MozzartBet has been giving donations to Kakamega, saying during the Covid19 pandemic, the betting firm donated medical equipments worth10 million to ten Counties and he received them when he was the Chairman Council of Governors.
Mr Oparanya said that the donation has come at a time the county is facing financial constraints occasioned by delays from the National Treasury in disbursing money to the devolved units.

“We have spent over Sh50million on CSR programs and we are just getting started. We are very passionate about the wellbeing of Kenyans and we shall continue supporting community driven projects,” said Krneta.
The governor said the county was also investing in the health sector to ensure they bring services closer to the locals.
MozzartBet Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sasa Krneta said that the donation of the medical equipments to the county is part of the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
“We have spent over Sh50million on CSR programs and we are just getting started. We are very passionate about the wellbeing of Kenyans and we shall continue supporting community driven projects,” said Krneta.
The betting firm since November last year has given out medical equipments to at least sixteen hospitals in the country such Ngara Health Centre, Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital, Pumwani Maternity hospital, Chemolinget sub county hospital, Mathare North Health Centre and Rachuonyo county hospital among others.
