Governor Kenneth Lusaka has on Thursday announced the promotion of 1,186 county officers across various cadres, marking a significant milestone in the County Governmentโs efforts to enhance service delivery, professionalism, and employee motivation.
The promotions were unveiled during the official launch of the County Administration Scheme of Service held at Mabanga Agricultural Training Centre (ATC), where Governor Lusaka emphasized the importance of structured career progression in public service.
According to the newly introduced scheme, 199 village administrators have been elevated from Job Group โGโ to โHโ; 38 ward administrators have moved from Job Group โNโ to Deputy Sub-County Administrators in Job Group โPโ; and 270 enforcement officers have been promoted from Job Group โDโ to โF.โ
Additionally, four Sub-County Administrators have risen from Job Group โQโ to Directors of Administration in Job Group โR,โ while 675 officers across various departments have also received promotions.
โThis is not just an event; it is a milestone,โ said Governor Lusaka in his keynote address. โIt is a powerful signal that, as Bungoma County, we are ready to professionalize, empower, and elevate the engine of grassroots service delivery.โ
Lusaka noted that the promotions are merit-based, reflecting the officersโ commitment and dedication to public service.
โYou have demonstrated true commitment to service delivery. The best reward I can give you is not a handout or a daily allowance, those are temporary,โ he said. โThe true reward, the lasting one, is to promote you, to empower you through a clear career path, and to create opportunities for growth and recognition. That is what this scheme of service stands for.โ
He further called on the newly promoted administrators to uphold integrity and professionalism, warning that the county would not tolerate misconduct or political interference in public service.
โIn this new scheme of service, there is no room for corruption, politics, nepotism, or favoritism. Itโs either reward or punishment,โ Governor Lusaka reaffirmed.
The launch of the administration scheme is expected to set a precedent for structured career development within county governments, enhancing public confidence in grassroots governance.
