Webuye Campus, a constituent of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), is set to reopen its doors next month with a fresh focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.

The Campus had been closed down for over five years.

This decision follows a strategic agreement between the universityโ€™s management and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka.

Under the newly inked deal, Bungoma County has leased the university campus for a period of 99 years.

During the event, MMUST representative James Sakwa revealed that the universityโ€™s board had decided to exclusively offer TVET programs at the Webuye campus.

The institution, which will operate with a degree of semi-autonomy, will offer a range of unique diploma courses, including specialized training in pedagogy.

Additionally, it will introduce programs that recognize prior learning, a key innovation aimed at enhancing skills development in the region.

Governor Lusaka, speaking at the event, pledged to support the campusโ€™s success by ensuring the necessary infrastructure is developed to support its growth and operational efficiency.
