A Former Deputy Governor Is Dead

Former Busia Deputy Governor H.E Moses Okhoba Mulomi was pronounced dead yesterday after collapsing on his way to Nairobi for a board meeting.

Family sources said while travelling to Nairobi, the former Deputy Governor fell gravely ill upon reaching Nakuru and sadly succumbed to an ailment that was yet to be confirmed.

Mulomi worked for Magombe Irrigation scheme in Bunyala as Senior
Manager for several years before seeking greener pastures in Zambia where he was employed as Director
International Red Locust Control Organisation for Central and Southern Africa. Until his death today, Mulomi was a Director at Kenya Cultural Centre Board.

In his condolence message, former Busia Governor H.E Sospeter Ojaamong described Mulomi as a great leader who devoted his life to the service of humanity.

” His outstanding service and performance as my Deputy Governor and County Executive Committee Member for Healthcare services will remain a source of inspiration and motivation to many aspiring leaders,” he said.

Ojaamong added:” H.E Mulomi was generous, cheerful, and friendly. To everyone who knew and had an opportunity to interact with him, he was a person of influence and outstanding ability.

His wise counsel and guidance will, indeed, be missed by many. We thank God for the years we shared with him.
I convey my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you, ” he said.

After serving for five years as Ojaamong’s deputy, Mulomi was among five aspirants for 2022 gubernatorial contest, which was won by H.E Dr Paul Otuoma on an ODM ticket with Arthur Odera as his running mate.

Mulomi had stood on Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAPK) with Tom Ipomai as his running mate. However, he stepped down and endorsed ANC’s John Bunyasi, thus denying Tom Ipomai a chance to be on the ballot.

Bunyasi emerged second while Daniel Mogoria took third position.Moi university lecturer, Michael Oloo ( National Liberty Party). finished fourth.
