Lusaka Blames Transferred Teachers For Lugulu Girls Exam Results Stalemate

Governor Kenneth Lusaka has criticized a section of teachers who exited Lugulu girls for allegedly contributing to the withholding of the school’s 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Educations (KCSE) results by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Speaking during the funeral service of Mama Cecelia Nanyama Kerre in Kamukuywa, Governor Lusaka said some teachers who were transferred for various reasons fought back by writing letters to KNEC.

“It’s very dangerous and a great shame to witness stakeholders in education play politics with the very institutions they are supposed to safeguard,” Governor Lusaka remarked. “The incident at Lugulu Girls, our giant school in the region, is completely unacceptable. Teachers should propel the quality of education and desist from playing ostrich politics.”

The governor condemned any form of politicking in schools, warning that such actions would not be tolerated. He urged educators to focus on their role in improving academic standards rather than engaging in activities that compromise the integrity of learning institutions.

Lusaka, while commending schools in Bungoma County for their exemplary academic performance, reiterated his commitment to supporting education and enhancing quality in the sector.
