In a significant move aimed at bolstering the administrative efficiency of Bungoma County, Governor Kenneth Lusaka today presided over the swearing-in ceremony of six new Chief Officers.

Governor Ken Lusaka

During the ceremony held at the county headquarters, Governor Lusaka reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the performance of his administration.

“Today’s appointments are critical decisions aimed at addressing the challenges we face and ensuring proactive service delivery,” he declared.

Those sworn in include: Andrew Wamukoya – Economic Planning, CPA Rashid Fwamba – Housing, Municipalities, and Urban Planning, Timothy Wanjala – Youth and Sports, David Maling’a – Gender and Culture, Sam Nalwa – Education and Vocational Training, Andrew Musungu – Livestock, Veterinary Services, and Fisheries, and Purity Kafuna as County Solicitor.

Lusaka highlighted the importance of concrete action plans for sustained social, political, and economic gains.

He underscored the need to think not only about immediate steps but also about future generations.

“Our youth play a vital role in economic transformation and public service. They are the most affected if solutions are not implemented,” he said.

He also emphasized the government’s dedication to gender equity, urging women public servants to champion the removal of obstacles that hinder equal opportunities.

“Let us see iconic leadership in our women: educated, articulate, morally upright, and responsible,” he encouraged.

In addition to these measures, Governor Lusaka announced the appointment of a County Solicitor to handle legal matters internally, aiming to reduce legal fees and strengthen the county’s legal capacity.

The newly sworn-in officers were urged to uphold the values of reasoned governance and to focus solely on serving the public, continuing the tradition of excellence that the administration strives for.
