Bungoma Womenβs groups are set to benefit from the second cohort of Dairy Cows distribution. Governor Kenneth Lusaka has said.

βIn my tenure as the first Governor, I embarked on a dairy project by buying 450 dairy cows that were distributed in 45 wards as a grant. We want to revive it in a more magnificent way. It is factored in our budgetβ, He said.
Lusaka emphasized on the need for residents to invest in dairy farming, saying that Bungoma has the potential to be a major milk supplier in the region.
βAm glad that the progress and the impact of the flagship project is being felt by the people. There is a huge opportunity in dairy farming. Money lies herein. Let us all embrace this type of farmingβ, He Said.
He stated that his legacy administration is keen on ensuring residents embrace dairy farming to improve their livelihood.
βThis venture could be our cash cow if well executed.So many homesteads have gained economic freedom through dairy farmingβ, He reiterated.
Lusaka further expressed the County Governmentβs commitment to enhance the implementation of the project in a more efficient way by training farmer groups in all aspects of dairy farming from value addition, financial education, budgeting and risk management and investment.
βThis project requires consistency. Even as we plan to roll out the distribution, we need to also focus on sustainabilityβ, He affirmed.
Lusaka supported dairy cooperatives to access milk packaging machines, milk ATMs and homogenized as the pioneer Governor.
He spoke in Mihuu Ward, Webuye East, while attending a Thanksgiving Sunday service at Mulachi Salvation Army .
