Thanks to the County Government’s recent decision to slash the daily tax fee from Sh50 to Sh20, local businesses can reap the benefits of increased profits.

This move has been received with joy from the business community as it will enable them to save more money for other investment opportunities and cushion them from the economic shocks brought about by the current pandemic.

His Excellency Governor George Natembeya’s administration decision is a step towards encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting local businesses which will, in turn, promote economic growth and development in the region.

During his campaign, Governor Natembeya made a commitment to ease the burden on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by pledging to reduce the receipt fees paid by Mama mboga and boda boda operators.

According to the CEC Trade, Mr Stanley Kirui, the move showcases the governor’s dedication to creating a business-friendly environment conducive to the growth and development of SMEs.

“These efforts demonstrate Governor’s willingness to listen to the people’s needs and put them at the forefront,” said Mr Kirui.

Governor Natembeya’s plans are not just about promises made during a campaign, but about delivering pragmatic solutions to the problems facing SMEs
