Namachanja High school and Kisiwa Technical Institute have represented the western region in the ongoing National scouting competition that is held at Rowallan Campsite in Nairobi.
The two institutions were the best at the regional level and got the opportunity to proceed to the national level.
The two teams were accompanied by the Kanduyi sub-county Scout commissioner, Julias Lelei, who expressed confidence in both teams.
“Scouting presents an opportunity for the competitors to learn skills such as construction, first aid administration, and home-based skills. We should also be at the forefront in environmental conversation because it is our mandate to do that,” said Mr. Lelei.
“We are here because we are the best, and we should prove that in terms of performance and discipline,” he said.
The commissioner also maintained that scouting is key in shaping the current generation by instilling relevant skills in the youth.
