An unknown number of people are feared dead after an oil tanker collided with a lorry bursting into flames.
The incident occurred at Mukhonje area along the Eldoret – Webuye highway.
“The fire is spreading very fast and consuming surrounding shops. We are worried if the fire is not contained on time, local businessmen will suffer a great loss,” said Fridah Wanyama, an eye witness.
According to Atieno, occupants who were in the oil tanker and the lorry have not been retrieved, adding that they might have lost their lives.
Last year at the same spot, there was a terrific accident that claimed seven people.
