Lurambi MP Titus Khamala has said that those who will not have a voter’s card and registered within the constituency will not benefit from this year’s bursary allocation.
Khamala said many university and college students are eligible voters but they are registered as voters.
“I am not going to give anyone a bursary unless you show me your voter registration card and ID. We cannot give bursary to freelancers who after getting our money they go to vote somewhere else or didn’t vote at all,” said Khamala.
IEBC is conducting a 30 – day registration exercise ending on November 4, this year.

The clergyman was speaking in Kakamega town today while a voter registration exercise targeting to enlist the young people as voters.
“My team is visiting different homes in the constituency just to check if everyone is a voter. Those who don’t have we take them to the registration centres to get enlisted under our supervision,” said Khamala.
According to Khamala, for one to get extra location or a new constituency or resources, they look at the number of registered voters and therefore they (ANC) will work around the clock and have youths enlisted as voters.
He also asked those who have not picked their IDs to go and collect them.
There are there are 10,713 uncollected IDs and another 7,933 duplicate IDs totaling to 18,646 in Western region.
Kakamega County alone has 6,140 uncollected IDs while Lurambi constituency has 1,070 uncollected IDs.
