Allies to the Deputy president William Ruto from Kakamega County have ditched the Tangatanga team and opted to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Led by Malava MP Malulu Injendi and Butali-Chegulo ward rep Kevin Mahelo have decamped to Governor Oparanya led campaign in spearheading popularization campaigns in Western region.
The two leaders turned up today during the launch of Kakamega BBI signature launch by Oparanya at Bukhungu stadium.
“From today I have changed my name from Saul to Paul after seeing the light. We shall popularize BBI in the region until the proposed changes comes to fruition,” said Injendi.
Oparanya thanked the two leaders for joining the BBI bandwagon saying it was time for the region to move as a united front in support of the referendum drive.
“Come 2022 we shall a big say in the bargaining table if the proposals will sail through in the referendum. A luhya must be among the top five positions in the executive,” said Oparanya.
According to the Deputy Governor Philip Kutima, the increment in county allocation will help achieve the intention of devolution.
