Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang\u2019ula has suspended errant\nmembers of the party who tried to oust him as the party leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetang\u2019ula has suspended Tongaren MP David Eseli Simiyu as Ford\nKenya Secretary General and replaced him with Kiminini lawmaker Dr. Chris\nWamalwa though in acting capacity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also suspended, is Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi from the\nparty\u2019s Agriculture and Livestock sectoral committee and has been replaced by\nVincent Mogaka, the West Mugirango MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cCynthia Mutere, a nominated MCA from Busia is\nhereby suspended as the chairperson of Ford Kenya women league and her position\nis hereby taken Roselidah Andambi, a nominated MCA in the Kakamega County\nAssembly,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetang\u2019ula reminded the two MPs and Governor Wycliffe\nWangamati, who orchestrated his removal as party leader that Ford Kenya is not\nthe property of Bungoma people; the party belongs to the people of Kenya.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetang\u2019ula further dismissed the meeting that was attended\nby the trio as being unlawful and whose resolutions cannot hold water since it\nwas unlawful, saying the purported delegates were airlifted to Nairobi on Saturday\nand locked at RadisonBlue hotel to rubberstamp the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPersons who are not officials of the party were airlifted\nagainst the government measures of containing Covid19 and booked at RadisonBlue\nhotel. They were detained them through an unlawful meeting overnight and\npurported to make decisions for the party,\u201d said Wetang\u2019ula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetang\u2019ula said he took over party with one MP and now they\nhave 13 MPs, 2 governors, 2 senators and 85 MCAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that Richard Onyonka was put under immense pressure\nto accept to be part of the treachery, offered money, and hunted all over until\nhe acquired a different line so as not to succumb to the selfish motives of the\ntrio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Wangamati after a purported special NEC\nmeeting of the party announced that they were replacing Wetang\u2019ula with\nWamunyinyi over his failure to foster unity of the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cA lot of realignments\nare happening at the national level, as Ford Kenya we want to part of the discussion,\npart of the government in 2020, we don\u2019t want to be left behind and for the\navoidance of doubt we are behind the handshake deal between Uhuru and Raila,\u201d\nsaid Wangamati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Wafula Wakoli, a former Ford Kenya youth leader and\nWetang\u2019ula\u2019s manager in the senate led a demo in Bungoma town putting on notice\nleaders he claimed were out to betray Wetang’ula despite having enjoyed the\nparty’s support for over a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe plot to overthrow Wetang\u2019ula as Ford Kenya party leader began after he castigated Wangamati\u2019s government over corruption and embezzlement of money meant to fight Covid-19 where it\u2019s alleged the county bought 600- 20litre jerricans at Sh10, 000 each,\u201d claimed Mr Wakoli. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Part of senator Wetang’ula problems could have emanated from his criticism\nof Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, a close ally turned foe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe plot to overthrow Wetang\u2019ula as Ford Kenya party leader began after he\ncastigated Wangamati\u2019s government over corruption and embezzlement of money\nmeant to fight Covid-19 where it\u2019s alleged the county bought 600- 20litre\njerricans at Sh10, 000 each,\u201d claimed Mr Wakoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added:  \u201cThey are afraid Wetang\u2019ula\ncould expose them given that all those who have been involved in embezzling the\npublic coffers money are currently on the EACC radar.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
