He was followed by Ex-Senator Henry ole Ndiema at 18.2\nper cent (685 votes) followed by Former Agriculture Minister Kipruto Arap Kirwa\nat the third position with 17.23 per cent (648 votes). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0063.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-758\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0063.jpg 600w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0063-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption><em><strong>Ex &#8211; Senator Henry Ole Ndiema<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Kwanza Parliamentary aspirant Allan Chesang\u2019 was ranked at the fourth position with 8.32 per cent (313 votes) while the fifth position went to the current Trans County Assembly Speaker Joshua Werunga with 6.70 per cent (252 votes). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former nominated Senator Catherine Mukite was ranked at position 6 with 121 votes which represents 3.21 per cent of the sampled population. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"695\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-1024x695.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-761\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-1024x695.png 1024w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-300x204.png 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-768x522.png 768w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-696x473.png 696w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto-1068x725.png 1068w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/kipruto.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><em><strong>Kipruto Arap Kirwa<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex Matere was ranked at the seventh position with 3.01 per cent (113 votes) followed by Nickson Mutuku at 2.93 per cent (110 votes) at the eighth position whereas&nbsp; Andrew Wafula and Richard Chesebe&nbsp; were ranked at position 9&nbsp; and 10 with 2.87 per cent (108 votes)&nbsp;&nbsp; and 1.05 per cent (39 votes) respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of\n425 people which constitutes 11.31 per cent of the population reached were\nundecided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nAnalysis <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Senator Mbito is famed for his consistency in politics as well as his philanthropic work. Being an incumbent, also gives him an upper position ahead of the other candidates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is also the chairman of the powerful Health committee in the Senate as well as his financial ability, Mbito has good relations with the Governor Patrick Khaemba and a host of local leaders including Deputy President Dr. William Ruto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"623\" height=\"621\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0058.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-760\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0058.jpg 623w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0058-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0058-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 623px) 100vw, 623px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Businessman Allan Chensang&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Mbito\u2019s name is also well spread in the county\nin addition to his unitary Sabaot sub tribe that voted for him to the last\nperson in the last polls. The Sabaot community is also the third populous in\nthe county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0However, his tribe is unhappy with the way Mr. Mbito has been carrying out his oversight role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;For Henry Ole Ndiema, he is a household name\nhaving served as the first senator in the advent of devolution. Ndiema enjoys\nthe support Ford Kenya that is headed by Moses Wetang\u2019ula, a political kingpin\nin the region as well as having financial muscles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0060.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0060.jpg 600w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0060-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0060-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption><em><strong>Trans Nzoia County Assembly Speaker &#8211; Joshua Werunga<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp; The Mabanga Accord also favors him given that\nhe hails from Sabaot community. He is however not generous as per the majority\nviews, not consistent in his political career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former\nAgriculture Minister Kipruto Arap Kirwa is a political power house in Trans\nNzoia and has vied for two times in 2013 and 2017 where he emerged position two\nand three respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0061.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0061.jpg 640w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0061-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0061-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption><em><strong>Former nominated Senator Catherine Mukite<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Kirwa has a successful political career as a\nlawmaker for Cherang\u2019any and also a minister in the Narc government. Kipruto is\nvocal and has a strong financial base as well as being a close ally to the\nDeputy President, Dr Ruto. However, the Nandi factor has always worked against\nhis political career as they are supposed to go for the deputy governor seat\naccording to the Mabanga Accord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\ngenerous and youthful politician Allan Chesang\u2019 is also well known in the area,\nthanks to his oratory prowess, financial stability and having vied for Kwanza\nparliamentary seat and emerged position three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;He is also a close ally of Dr. Ruto. As per\nthe Mabanga Accord, Nandi\u2019s are supposed to produce deputy governors which is a\nlimitation in addition to having poor political strategies including his\ninexperienced advisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chesang\u2019 is\nirrational and has been hit by several scandals that is working against his\npolitical ambitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0059-696x696.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Eng. Richard Chesebe<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Joshua\nWerunga, the current Speaker of Trans Nzoia County Assembly. He vied for the\nKwanza MP seat in the last polls and came second to Ferdinand Wanyonyi, the\ncurrent lawmaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His oratory skills makes him popular in the county though he is inconsistent in his political career and not be trusted due to party hoping. He vied for Endebes and Kwanza parliamentary seats respectively in 2013 and 2017 .Werunga is perceived to be financially  unstable and just like other aspirants,he is inconvenienced by the Mabanga accord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Nominated Senator Catherine Mukite is the only female aspirant in the county and has a huge following from women. Having been a senatorial aspirant in the 2017 elections where she emerged position three. Being a woman, it complicates her matrix due to male chauvinism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"712\" height=\"537\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0064.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-764\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0064.jpg 712w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0064-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG-20200513-WA0064-696x525.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 712px) 100vw, 712px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Nickson Mutuku<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alex Matere is the national youth BBI coordinator and as youth, he has a little support from the youths. He is financially unstable and by him supporting ODM leader, Raila Odinga, it makes the locals not to trust him with their votes owing to how he worked in orchestrating the fall of the late Vice President, Kijana Wamalwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nickson Mutuku, who is a contractor with the County Government of Trans Nzoia cum seasoned businessman enjoys a small margin of the youths and is however disadvantaged by the fact that he is a Kamba. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid.jpg 678w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is financially unstable and has a history of political failure having vied 3 times unsuccessfully for MCA position for Nabiswa ward.
