<\/p>\nBungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka used this year\u2019s Madaraka Day celebrations to highlight his administration\u2019s development strides and reiterate his commitment to inclusive service delivery.<\/p>\n
Speaking at Naitiri R.C. Primary School in Tongaren, Lusaka said Madaraka Day serves as a reminder of Kenya\u2019s hard-earned self-rule and a call to responsible leadership. \u201cIt is not just about self-governance\u2014it is about owning our destiny,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Lusaka outlined key achievements across sectors, including confirmation of 233 Village Administrators and promotion of over 675 county staff. In health, he noted the upgrade of facilities in all 45 wards, recruitment of 250 clinical officers, and elevation of Bungoma Referral Hospital to Level 6. A new KSh250 million referral facility is also underway in Misikhu with Chinese support.<\/p>\n
He lauded partnerships with the Safaricom-Mpesa Foundation and digitization of health data through the Electronic Community Health Information System (ECHIS). Over 3,500 Community Health Promoters now receive monthly stipends.<\/p>\n
On trade and infrastructure, Lusaka cited ongoing construction of Kamukuywa Market, Kanduyi Bus Park, and Chwele Agribusiness Centre, plus the development of an industrial park in Sang\u2019alo. Street lighting is being expanded to promote a 24-hour economy.<\/p>\n
The Governor also highlighted agricultural support to over 22,500 farmers and major market upgrades under the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP2). Education programs include school feeding for ECDE pupils and support for vocational centres.<\/p>\n

Roadworks and emergency services have been bolstered through ongoing upgrades and renovations of fire stations in Bungoma and Webuye.<\/p>\n
Lusaka pledged to complete key projects countywide, including the Chemoge High Altitude Centre and Soko Kubwa Market, vowing to \u201cfinish strong\u201d and ensure equitable development.<\/p>\n
He concluded by calling for unity, peace, and a focus on innovation and youth empowerment, stating, \u201cTogether, we are writing a story of hope, growth, and transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n
