Speaking in Nairobi when he met The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) -Council of Governors (CoG) Mary Mwiti on Tuesday, Buteyo stated that Cities and Municipalities play a critical role urban transformation and service delivery.<\/div>\n

He spoke when the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) -Council of Governors (CoG) Mary Mwiti met with the leadership of the chairpersons of Cities and Municipal Boards.<\/div>\n

The Chairman of the Caucus of Chairpersons of Cities and Municipalities in the Country Wanyonyi Buteyo who is\u00a0 also the Chairman of Kimilili Municipality, in Bungoma was present.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the meeting in Nairobi, various issues were discussed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They included;<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Financing of Cities and Urban areas<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Human resource issues within Cities and Municipalities.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The establishment of inter-city and inter-municipality forum as per the IGRA act.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Transfer of functions to the urban entities.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The CEO committed to support this tier of decentralisation.<\/div>\n
