{"id":630,"date":"2020-04-22T08:26:05","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T08:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=630"},"modified":"2020-04-22T08:26:05","modified_gmt":"2020-04-22T08:26:05","slug":"businessman-donates-face-masks-to-boda-boda-riders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=630","title":{"rendered":"Businessman donates face masks to boda boda riders"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Godfrey Wamalwa <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Nairobi-based businessman, Martin\nNamasaka on donated more than 2000 face masks to\nBoda Boda operators and residents, Mihuu ward,Webuye east constituency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during the exercise,\nhis representative Charles Sibweche said that Mr.Namasaka took upon this task\nof supplying masks to help in the fight against corona virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marto.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marto.jpg 500w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marto-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marto-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Martin Namasaka <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMr.Namasaka is\nsupplying face masks as a sign of helping the locals in the fight against this\npandemic because a majority of them can\u2019t afford them during this period\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He went ahead and appealed for serious\nsensitization of residents in rural areas about the safety precautions that\nneed to be observed to stop the spread of the Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMost of the people in rural areas\nhave heard there is a disease killing people but not all of them know what to\ndo to curb it\u2019s spread\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boda\nboda riders thanked the businessman for the donation which they said will go\nalong way in assisting them in combating the spread of the vice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The businessman who\nhas also declared his interest to run for Mihuu ward\nseat come 2022 urged parents to take care of\ntheir children during this time the schools are closed and make sure they teach\ntheir kids the steps to be followed to fight the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Mr.Namasaka has been a political\nactor in Mihuu ward for years, this is the first time he is venturing into\nelective politics himself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving listened to the voice of my\nelders, family members&nbsp;and&nbsp;friends, I feel that it is time for me to\ncontest the seat and, when we emerge&nbsp;victorious, implement the development\ninitiatives that our people have been hungering&nbsp;for for&nbsp;years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid.jpg 678w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe era of electing people on the\nbasis of&nbsp;clan&nbsp;or party politics is gone.
