disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Wangamati had earlier on\ncommunicated with the security officers not to open the gate for the ward\nbosses, whose their aim was to fully armed to battle with bitter ward\nbosses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing the press, George Makari\nMusikoma ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) accused those people who are\nbehind pressuring propaganda to this scandal that their days are numbered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that the health committee were\nfully prepared to meet the witnesses to get clear picture on the misappropriate\nuse of funds from Bungoma county referral hospital and those that were set\naside to help in battling the covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018\u2019Today we were fully prepared to meet\nthe witnesses of the 10,000 jerry can saga to tell us how the money was used\nand the people that were on the forefront of misusing public funds.\u2019\u2019 He said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ward boss said that they had\nsummoned all the witnesses to appear before the committee including the Bungoma\ncounty referral hospital accountant to bring bank statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"959\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jerry-can.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jerry-can.jpg 640w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jerry-can-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018\u2019Our ministry of health is now in\nsympathetic situation because the county cannot fight this pandemic.\u2019\u2019 He accused,\nadding that the greedy senior government officials has squandered all the\nfunds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Makari added that in the morning had\nconversed with Bungoma senator Moses Wetang\u2019ula and informed him that a group\nof senators were meeting to discuss on serious matters, accusing the security\nteam for denying them entrance to discuss on essential health matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018\u2019If in the senate 58 people are\nmeeting what about the 15 health committee here in Bungoma.\u2019\u2019 He lamented,\nassuring that they are maintaining social distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Echoing his sentiments, Tony Barasa\nLwandanyi ward boss also Deputy Minority leader Bungoma county assembly said\nthat the committee is really prepared to oversight the jerry can scandal and\nensure that the culprits are identified and even fired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that they were totally\nfrustrated with the kind of governance they are having, calling on Governor\nWycliffe Wangamati to allow them do the oversight and establish thieves in his\ngovernment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018\u2019We have not come here to fight with\npolice officers our work which was tasked by residents is make sure that the\ncounty is free of corruption and citizens get better services from the county\ngovernment.\u2019\u2019 He said, calling on governor Wangamati to allow them do the\noversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also present were Jack
