Governor Kenneth Lusaka has launched the free distribution of over 500 livestock to small-scale farmers in Bungoma, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to economic empowerment and food security.<\/p>\n

While handing over 30 high-quality heifers to 25 farmer groups in Kabula Ward, Bumula,Governor Lusaka underscored the importance of community-driven empowerment programs in strengthening household economies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis occasion marks a significant milestone in our efforts to empower our farmers, strengthen our livestock sector to enhance production, improve livelihoods, and ensure food security for our county,\u201d Lusaka stated.<\/p>\n

The governor urged more residents to embrace livestock farming, emphasizing its role in poverty alleviation and economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur commitment as a county government is to support farmers through sustainable livestock programs, capacity building, and access to veterinary services. I encourage our people to embrace this venture to alleviate poverty,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

A total of 236 young dairy heifers, 264 Alpine dairy goats, and Dopper sheep will be distributed across 17 wards in the county.<\/p>\n
