Activists and NGOs have met today to celebrate a year of fighting against femicide and to do reflection of what they have been doing for the past one year in Kenya since the beginning of the movement in 2024.<\/p>\n

Globally almost one in three women have been victims of violence this making the percentage of victims go even higher these days.<\/p>\n

Addressing the press,Amina Subuka an antifeminist activist said that the journey hasn’t been easy since the beginning of the movement as they go by to identify and know the reason and causes of killings of women and girls.<\/p>\n

‘This journey has taken time to do sensitization,creating awareness in the community and grassroot level to make sure that everyone is educated and understand the causes of killings among one gender which is especially young girls and women’. Said Amina.<\/p>\n

She further explained that they have every reason to celebrate because they have made a step of creating awareness and in so doing they interact with the communities,they have come to know what are the causes of the kills and this makes it easy for them to atleast reduce feminism.<\/p>\n

Dorothy Adongo an activist of social justice argued the ones involved in such violence to come out and avoid hiding of evidences also the perpetrators should be arrested and the law to be enforcement.<\/p>\n

“When women are killed the community remains with a very big gap which is very difficult to fill” said Adongo.<\/p>\n

She also noted that there is a lot of challenges faced in the field,hence they still have along way to go.<\/p>\n
