Ng\u2019arisha Sacco journey that\nstarted 41 years ago with a handful of members now stand as towering financial\nfigure in the Kenyan cooperative movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a strong asset base of\nover Ksh.1 billion and a membership of over 15,000, the Sacco now tops\nfinancial institutions that contribute to the livelihoods of many of our\nmembers and the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by the board chairperson,\nMr.Benedict Simiyu who has a clear-cut vision.\nThe Ng\u2019arisha Sacco Chairman envisages a financially strong institution and\nprosperous members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\ndistinct plans include taking Ng\u2019arisha Sacco to the top tier co-operative and\nassisting members to grow their financial investments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had to ensure all our staffs in all our satellite branches were qualified. We also started to implement performance management system. Our employees work on targets that they must deliver within the stipulated time,\u201d said Mr Simiyu. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

But\nMr Simiyu is not an overambitious person; he has trained sights on a pragmatic\napproach. To achieve the goals, he is rallying his team to support the efforts\nto make the leading Sacco in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nSacco is setting an indelible mark in provision of financial and non-financial\nservices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When\nyou meet him,Macklins Wamukota, , the Chief Executive Officer is crisp precise\nand articulate on the strategic development plan for the Sacco he has in the\ncoming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Mr.Wamukota cuts a figure of a man on a\ndefined mission. Through his guidance and the board leadership, Ng\u2019arisha Sacco\nhas so far come a long way both in financial performance and members\u2019\nlivelihood transformation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pioneer sacco in Bungoma County, which represents\nfinancial freedom and empowerment, plans to have a members of over 20,000 in\nthe coming few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 41 -years-old sacco, which has withstood the test\nof turbulent financial times that has seen many saccos split and collapse, is\nstill going strong.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sacco has grown to become one of the biggest\nindigenous financial institutions in western region and its environs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sacco whose headquarters is at Bungoma town in\nKanduyi Sub-County, is situated at the multimillion-shilling Teachers Plaza\nbuilt from members\u2019 savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the sacco became the preferred\nfinancial provider due to its improved services pegged on quality, integrity,\nprofessionalism, innovation and good customer service, the Sacco attracted more\nmembers from the neighboring counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2014,it was rebranded from\nBungoma Teachers Sacco Society limited \nto Ngarisha Sacco.The sacco, which is led by Mr.Macklins\nWamukota, it has attracted workers in Bungoma County, Ministry of Education and\nthe business community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nmove saw the sacco cast net far and wide and attract members and partners\nnationally and internationally. The members could not be served due to its\ninitial name and geographical location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ngarisha\nSacco came up at a time when banks had shunned the region and most residents in\nrural Bungoma did not own bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sacco chairperson Benedict Simiyu said the Sacco\nwon the confidence of mama mboga, teachers, jua kali operators among others who\nentrusted the Sacco with their money and supported it in a big way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDue to good governance and accountability which\nguaranteed the safety of members’ savings, the confidence grew tremendously as\nthey supported the sacco by increasing their savings in a big way,\u201d posed\nMr.Simiyu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ng\u2019arisha Sacco Net loans at 31st\nDecember 2018 and December 2019 stood at Sh1,744,152,970.46 and\nSh1,779,325,706.00 at both Fosa and Bosa counters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Sacco closed the year (2019)\nwith the net loan balance to members of Sh1,927,019, 627 while it was Sh1,776,645.40\nin 2018,\u201d said Simiyu during annual delagates meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sacco has generated an income of\nSh72,443,449.77 with a surplus of Sh65,995,458.35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ng\u2019arisha sacco formerly Bungoma\neachers sacco was established in 1979 currently offering loans to people in the Juakali sector, boda boda ,\nMama Mboga’s and cadres of investors basing on\ntheir share
\nstrength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
