A Bungoma based business man cum politician Joseph Lendrix Waswa has said that his self sponsored medical camp and SHA enrollment was a huge success in Webuye West constituency.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The medical camp and Sha registration platform was staged in all the four wards in the constituency with majority of residents turning up for treatment.<\/div>\n

They are Bokoli, Misikhu, Matulo and Sitikho Wards.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Addressing the press at Miendo Chief’s camp on Tuesday, Waswa who has announced to vie for the parliamentary seat in 2027 affirmed that many people were suffering in silence and they were unable to access medication due to the high biting poverty.<\/div>\n

“After learning of the high rate of poverty among our people, I made a decision to assist them, the medical camp saw a number of people suffering from malaria, hypertension, diabetes, pressure and other lifestyle diseases access medication,” he said.<\/div>\n

Waswa stated that from the statistics gathered on the ground, the free medical camp managed to treat over 8,500 while it boosted SHA registration in the Sub county by 5,400 people enrolling for the health insurance cover.<\/div>\n

“This is a boost to the Primary Health Care, we need a good number of our people enrolled so that they can access free medication in future,” he stated<\/div>\n

He added, “Even after closing the medical camp, I will come up with a program to ensure all our people are registered with SHA, this programme will take two weeks to have them on board,”.<\/div>\n
