Ampath Population Health has picked Bungoma County has its First county to benefit from Ampath POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) project.<\/p>\n

The project is focused on early detection and management of Obstetrics complications, Breast Cancer and Heart Failure cases which form major disease burdens among its population.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Ampath Pocus Project will also be rolled out in other Five counties of western Kenya a year later.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

During an introductory meeting with Bungoma County health and sanitation CECM Madam Carolyne Makali, the Ampath Population Health team led by Dr. Jeremiah Laktabai, Dr. Hussein Elias, Ken Too, Betty Lelei and Ekada Dennis when they paid her a courtesy call, the team stated that they have chosen County because of its hospitality and a cool working environment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Bungoma is privileged to have been given the first priority in the implementation of this 4 year project which will see the county receive 200 ultrasound probes (gadgets) and get over 600 of its medical staff (nurses, clinical and medical officers) trained on the use of POCUS and case management of the three areas of interest.<\/p>\n

The Ampath Population Health team shared its vision and plan for the next 4 years starting with stakeholder engagements, needs assessment and then roll out of the program scheduled for January 2025.<\/p>\n
