The project which is funded by World bank and AFD through the Financing Locally Led Climate Change Action (FlloCA) and implemented by Bungoma County government will benefit the local community in accessing clean water for domestic use and irrigation.<\/div>\n

During a site visit, Chief Officer for Climate Change, natural resources and\u00a0 environment Nicholas Kiboi lauded the contractor for the speed he is undertaking to implement the project.<\/div>\n

“I am with the works progress which the contractor says it has reached 13 percent, we are optimistic that in the next one month it will be at 60 percent do that residents can benefit from it,” he said.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/div>\n
Accompanied by the project engineer Eng. Kennedy Wamalwa and Deputy director water Mr Henry Mienja, Kiboi said that once complete the project will serve over 7,000 residents.<\/div>\n

The project components include Dam desilting and rehabilitation, Construction of Composite filtration unit, 160,000 combined storage, Solar power system, Drip irrigation,\u00a0 Bee farming, Fencing and construction of the access road.<\/div>\n

“As you have seen already the contractor\u00a0 (Dinle Enterprises Limited) and is doing good work, we encourage him to speed it so that the project is put\u00a0 into use as soon as possible,” he said.<\/div>\n

The Sh56 million project will see the 12 acres piece of land revamped to create employment opportunities.<\/div>\n
