Elephants Combined team emerged winners of the two-week Netball Trust tournament that was held in Bungoma County and attracted 19 teams.<\/p>\n
Elephants asserted their supremacy to carry the day after beating Rhinos in a thrilling final in Bungoma Town to crown a successful fourth edition of the event.<\/p>\n

Netball Development Trust started in Kenya
\nin 2014. Country Director Joseph Olita said they use netball to bring participants together.<\/p>\n
” Participants are also educated on teengae pregnancy, menstrual and mental health,” Olita said, noting that they also work with secondary schools to offer scholarships to talented netball players.<\/p>\n
With Mr Olita heading the game as the country director, Julie Smith is
\nUK lead and head of development 2024-tour.<\/p>\n

Volunteers involved included International-11
\n(UK -8, Hong Kong- 1, Uganda -2)
\nLocal Volunteers – 50 and
\nteachers -30<\/p>\n
Week one saw 11 teams converge that included Kibindoi Primary School with Kabkara, Machakha, Tororo, Wamono, Kaburueti, Kaprot, Tulienge, Namubila, Marakaru, and Mufungu Communities.<\/p>\n

The second week saw teams pitch camp in Urban Bungoma with Bungoma DEB, Kandui DEB, Mukhaweli, Mupeli, Siritanyi, Sinoko, Moi, and Commonwealth and Central Baptist schools.<\/p>\n
Olita disclosed that all participating teams were given netball uniforms, bibs, balls, whistles, and netball equipment.<\/p>\n
