{"id":5119,"date":"2024-06-04T14:29:50","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T11:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=5119"},"modified":"2024-06-04T14:29:50","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T11:29:50","slug":"former-panpaper-fc-utility-player-football-administrator-stephen-emee-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=5119","title":{"rendered":"Former Panpaper FC Utility Player &#038; Football Administrator Stephen Emee Dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Reuben Olita\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Former Premier League Side Panpaper FC utility player and soccer administrator Stephen Emee has passed on after a short illness.<\/p>\n<p>Isamaa clan vice chairman Emmanuel Osirang broke the news of their member who succumbed to his illness at Bungoma Life Care, where the body has been reserved pending burial arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Former Panpaper coach Apollo Oteba said Emee joined the club as a midfielder in 1989, where he helped his team to memorable victories in the Premier league.<\/p>\n<p>Panpaper was a household name in the country where it remained in top flight football between 1984-1992 when it was demoted to Division II after facing relegation.<\/p>\n<p>Oteba said Emee was a good player who was always in the team&#8217;s first eleven, adding that discipline was his cardinal rule that made him the darling of fans.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5118\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG-20240604-WA0054-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG-20240604-WA0054-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG-20240604-WA0054-696x925.jpg 696w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG-20240604-WA0054.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The late Stephen Emee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Martin Ideke recalled his working career with Emee between 1989-1996 before he resigned to land another job at Kaptembwa Post in Nakuru.<\/p>\n<p>When Panpaper was put under receivership, Emee returned home, where he became the treasurer of Kenya Football Federation North Western Branch for six years.<\/p>\n<p>Football Kenya Federation Busia Branch chairman Hillary Musundi said Emee&#8217;s death was a big blow to soccer fraternity in the county and sent condolences to the deceased family.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Reuben Olita\u00a0 Former Premier League Side Panpaper FC utility player and soccer administrator Stephen Emee has passed on after a short illness.
