President Ruto cautioned those who have the habit of seizing public land for their own advantage to respect themselves by gradually leaving the premises.<\/p>\n
Addressing citizens during the Madaraka Day celebration at Masinde Muliro stadium in Bungoma county, the president stated that the government will no longer fight anyone over the issue of public lands, but that they should willingly pack their belongings and quit the property.<\/p>\n
“We are not going to force anyone out of the land but you know yourselfs,please just take everything that is yours and one by one move peacefully,”he noted. Furthermore, he stated that the land was set aside for the public’s benefit rather than personal gain, and thus every Bungoma resident has the right to benefit from the land.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he stated that Maside Muliro studium was formed a long time ago, and the fact that it has not yet been completed doesn’t guarantee that people are going to start purchasing the land that was set aside primarily for the purpose of contracting the studium..<\/p>\n
“We know there is alot of sun and this is the last time you are being beaten by sun,next time when you come here this whole place will be covered,” he stated.<\/p>\n
This will help the county’s economy because there will be a well-established air transport system, including the Matilu airstrip, which is scheduled to be completed post the Madaraka celebration.<\/p>\n
