{"id":4729,"date":"2023-07-04T17:30:08","date_gmt":"2023-07-04T17:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=4729"},"modified":"2023-07-04T17:30:08","modified_gmt":"2023-07-04T17:30:08","slug":"kenya-is-not-happy-with-the-slow-pace-of-industrialization-in-africa-dr-mukhwana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=4729","title":{"rendered":"Kenya Is Not Happy With The slow Pace Of Industrialization In Africa -Dr.Mukhwana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Kenya is calling for the quick set up of industries in Africa to spur development.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This was said by PS Industry Dr.Juma Mukhwana who is representing Kenya in Vienna, Austria where he narrated about the slow Pace of industrialization in Africa.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>At the beginning of the 51st Industrial Development Board meeting of UNIDO in Vienna,\u00a0 Austria at which the PS for Industry Dr Juma Mukhwana is representing the Kenya Government.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said that Kenya is not happy with the slow pace of Industrialization in Africa and urged that strategies be put in place to resolve the same.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Industrialization plays a key role in the development of any country, Africa has very few industries and hence can&#8217;t grow economically, the setting up of different industries will employ more jobless youths hence reduce unemployment,&#8221; he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">During the meeting, Mukhwana who also paid a courtesy call to Kenyan ambassador to Austria said that Kenya acknowledges the growth in funding for UNIDO technical cooperation services in 2022- due in large part to enhanced\u00a0 support by the European union, other member states and vital funding partners.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">They include the global environment facility and multitask fund for the implementation of the Montreal protocol.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said that the growth in resources provides additional confidence in UNIDO&#8217;s ability to deliver it&#8217;s mandated services now and in the coming days.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Kenya applauds the director general for spearheading the implementation of UNIDO&#8217;S first ever results based budget in the year 2022. We also reiterate our support for the DG ongoing reforms at UNIDO,&#8221; said the PS.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He continued, &#8220;We wish to reiterate our call for additional strengthening of UNIDO regional field offices- and specifically advocate for reinforcement of Uniform field office in Kenya,&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya is calling for the quick set up of industries in Africa to spur development.
