Tracing of persons who may have come\ninto contact with the confirmed persons is ongoing so that they too can be\ntested,\u201d said the Health CS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Kagwe, already 18 who met them have been quarantined\nat Mbagathi hospital, saying seven of them have been screened and tested\nnegative and that they have been discharged to self-quarantine for 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-696x696.jpg 696w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200302-WA0019.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the remaining 11, there samples are being tested and\nwill be ready by close of business today, adding that all those going for self-quarantine\nwill be closely monitored by staff from the Health ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s now clear that Kenyans travelling outside the country\nor those who visited overseas and jetted in earlier are the ones testing\npositive of coronavirus. A lot of people have compiled with the directive and it\u2019s\ncommendable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kagwe asked Kenyans to report anyone who agreed to\nquarantine himself and is not doing so to report immediately to the police so\nthat they can be quarantined by force for 14 days and upon discharge, they will\nbe charged and punished in a court of law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRefusing to quarantine yourself is an offence and\npunishable by a jail term. Effective today, any Kenyan coming in must sign a\nlegal form to self-quarantine. This is an extremely important\nstep and I can assure you, the knowledge we got will go a long way in salvaging\nthe country from Covid 19,\u201d Kagwe added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, doctors and nurses at the Kakamega County General Teaching and\nReferral Hospital fled from the casualty ward after a patient with\ncoronavirus-like symptoms was brought to the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The health workers said they feared contracting the highly contagious coronavirus disease because they do not have protective gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"622\" height=\"881\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200303-WA0045.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200303-WA0045.jpg 622w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200303-WA0045-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 622px) 100vw, 622px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA patient with corona like symptoms walked to the referral hospital\nfor tests today and was rushed to the isolation ward by personnel from the\nKenya Red cross.
